Job Description
The Team
Our National Commodities team operates across all three of our Australian offices, advising on both domestic and international matters. In this role, you will work directly with Stephen Thompson, Partner and Global Head of Commodities at HFW, and Owen Webb, Partner. You'll collaborate with clients across multiple jurisdictions on high-profile, interesting and often complex matters.
Stephen has a broad practice with both litigious and advisory aspects working with commodity traders, shipowners and operators, as well as cruise lines. This role could be perfect if you are a strong trade and shipping law specialist, who can take ownership of matters, lead with confidence, and mentor junior team members to deliver outstanding results. Desired Skills and Experience
We would love to hear from you if you have:
A minimum of 6 years' experience in litigation, with a strong focus on trade and/or shipping disputes (desired)
A genuine passion for commodities and shipping litigation
Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail
A client-focussed mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
Experience in leading, mentoring and supporting junior team members
A collaborative approach and inclusive approach to teamwork
Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
The ability to grasp and apply complex legal concepts to real-world matters.
Qualified in Australia and/or in England and Wales
