Team and Team Structure
You will have the opportunity to join a global leading practice focusing on interesting cross-border work in respect of commodities trading.
Key Responsibilities
Provisioning of full legal and administration support to lawyers in the team
Supporting fee earners in (where appropriate) drafting, amending, proof-reading and finalising transaction documentation, KYC, engagement letters, policy notes and memoranda of advice.
Conducting initial due diligence (such as the investigation/verification of facts and figures for projects, examining documents, and researching on laws, regulation and policy (both Singapore and elsewhere)).
Demonstrating good housekeeping and file management practices (including precedent banks)
In conjunction with the business development team and the lawyers, assisting with preparing pitches to clients for new matters
Assisting other team members in transaction management, including managing timelines for multiple matters
Liaising with external parties including clients and other legal professionals in other law firms and HFW offices
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to new business development and growth initiatives through participation in strategic projects with high business impact and visibility
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
A law degree from a reputable university
Ideally with two years of finance transactional working experience in a law firm
Good command of English
Drafting and research skills
Ability to work under pressure, dealing with unknowns and handle concurrent tasks
Being able to marry good practical skills with practical solutions and approaches to real-world untested problems
A team player with the ability to work in a multi-cultural and collegiate law-firm environment
Good communication skills
